Melissa Allis OTR/L has over 15 years of experience as a registered and licensed occupational therapist. The idea of Safe Optimal Spaces was born when Melissa cared for many patients experiencing difficulties after their return home from health care settings. Such difficulties can be as simple as being unable to reach the soap from a seated level or as complicated as being unable to enter your home due to multiple steps. Both simple and complicated challenges can be equally impactful. Safe Optimal Spaces believes that a more comprehensive home safety assessment, detailed recommendations/referrals, and follow-up visits can make this transition what it always should be - client centered.

Melissa has a graduate degree from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pa. Her professional experience includes direct patient care and discharge planning in a variety of settings, including nursing home, hospital, and home care. Melissa earned an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from Lafayette College in Easton, Pa and has 2 years of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning engineering experience.
